about

This is a dark one. I was feeling incredibly depressed about everything in my life, and I wanted to snapshot that feeling of hopelessness. It is important to note that I am ok now, but the song is a product of its time. I also wrote this one in Piccadilly Gardens, because I really needed the fresh air!

lyrics

Feel the strike of her hand on my cheek
Blood cells rushing to the sting
She's breaking the walls, and the TV
I do not feel a thing

Work is down, debt is rising
And I can't simply turn it down
My luck is skydiving
No parachute heading for the ground.

And I give up
I'm on a treadmill I'm going nowhere
And I give up
This sweat and pain is just too much to bear.

My futures bleak there is no progress
I just can't seem to shake it off
I'm a leech of happiness to all of my friends
They no longer want to talk

And I give up
I'm on a treadmill I'm going nowhere
And I give up
This sweat and pain is just too much to bear.

As I walk my final miles
The raindrops blind me running down my face
I stare out into the ocean
Take a breath for my leap of faith

And I give up
I'm on a treadmill I'm going nowhere
And I give up
As I lay me down no one seems to care
And I give up
